This Saturday the ladies of BlogNovaScotia had the pleasure of attending the WagJag Block Party, their official launch in Halifax. In case you are sking “What is WagJag?”, WagJag is a group buying website that allows the buyers access to great deals and businesses a way to get there name out to the buying public.WagJag came to Halifax in a BIG way, spending the month of April hitting up many local spots offering everything from free coffee to free bowling. Then to top off the month of free goodies they hosted an amazing launch party at the Paragon this past weekend.
The Block Party featured some of the great eats and a hint of the talent that Halifax has to offer. The highlights for us were the yummy sushi, the adorable mini cupcakes and the great music that was provided by Halifax’s own Jenn Grant. Another great benefit of this event was that it was like a giant Tweetup allowing Halifax’s tweeters a great place to get together.
WagJag is also giving back to the city, by supporting Feed Nova Scotia , a great organization that helps feel hungry haligonians. WagJag had their party guests bring a non-perishable food item to the party and it was awesome to see the stockpile of food (opps! I forgot to snap a picture of it). On top of the food donation they are also donating $1 for every WagJag purchased between May 1st-4th and if any deals sell over 100 WagJags they are doubling the donation to $2 per deal. Also if you are looking for a fun way to give back to the community WagJag is have a second party, this one a Food sorting Kitchen party at Feed Nova Scotia this coming Friday. They are offering 2 different times so come on out on your lunch break and help out. http://bit.ly/ijLzeq.
Thanks WagJag for launching in Halifax in a such big way! We look forward to seeing what you have to offer in the future.
