Summer Sunday nights Port Hawkesbury is the place to be! For 6 weeks smack dab in the middle of the summer Port Hawkesbury offers its FREE Summer Concert series on the Granville Green. The Green is a perfect venue for a crowd to gather and enjoy a show, the incline of the hill allows everyone a good angle to see both the stage and the excellent view of the water and all the boats sailing up to get a listen.
One of my favorite parts of the series is the sense of community that comes along with it. Everyone is out and socializing and chatting with friends and neighbours waiting for the concert to start. There is also games for the kids (a giant inflatable slide the night of the Stanfields) as well as vendors selling drinks and even shoes. The community really comes out to support the concerts, the Stanfields show featured everyone from babys to seniors enjoying the concert.
The line up for this summer includes a wide range of Nova Scotian acts that offer something for pretty much everyone. If you are looking for a fun Sunday evening out grab your camp chair and head out to the green (directions)
